Job Title:
Director of Engineering

Job Duties:

Full-time position performing the following duties: Direct and plan all company construction engineering projects employing Dietrich’s software, consistent with Blueprint Robotics portfolio and requirements.  Employ appropriate building codes and structural requirements as they relate to residential construction.  Analyze technical implications of design concept and the relationship to building disciplines.  Review industry trends with regards to building codes and building science methodologies and residential design and ensure that projects consider these key factors.  Provide training and direction to junior engineers and team members in the use of Dietrich’s software. Establish protocols and procedures employing Dietrich’s software. Develop Dietrich’s guidelines, material databases and details specific to the Blueprint method for timber (wood) construction. Ensure projects are being completed by others on time and correctly so that manufacturing can produce quality product in allotted timeframes. Train manufacturing staff on new design details.  Manage department budget. Organize and prepare presentation materials for internal managers.  Perform other related duties as required.  

May occasionally travel a few times a month to construction sites in Maryland and the Philadelphia metropolitan area to perform quality checks for design accuracy.  (Total days of travel would be less than 30 days per year.)

Job Requirements:

Five (5) years of experience working with and training others in the use of Dietrich’s software for timber (wood) construction.
